12星座をテーマにした作品「星の時間割」シリーズを作るにあたり、火・風・土・水の四大元素をイメージした4種類の造形にそれぞれの星座の守護石を配置することにした。

火の元素はどうしよう…と思った時に浮かんできたのは、「暗闇で煌々と燃え盛る松明」だった。

In creating the “Hoshi no jikanwari” series of works on the theme of the 12 signs of the zodiac, I decided to place the guardian stones of each sign on four different sculptures inspired by the four elements of fire, wind, earth, and water.

What about the element of fire… what came to mind when I thought of this was “a torch burning brightly in the dark”.
