It’s hard to leave Japanese calligraphy behind.

あけましておめでとうございます。

さて、前から見てみたいと思っていた、篠田桃紅さんの作品展に行ってきた。

テレビ番組で「女主人」というタイトルの作品を見てから、ずっと興味があったので嬉しい。
（カリグラフィーも好きだが、書も好きだ）
残念ながら、ずっと見たいと思っていた「女主人」という作品は展示されてなかったけど、「月読み」という素敵な作品が見れたので嬉しい。
すっすっ、と迷いの無い筆運びが心地いいなぁ…と一緒に行った家族と話しながら、書から入って抽象画にいたるなんて面白いなぁ…と思いつつも。
（文字の成り立ちとは逆だと思うので）

皆様にも私にも祝福の多い一年でありますように。

Happy New Year!

Well, I went to an exhibition of Toko Shinoda‘s works, which I have been wanting to see for a while.

I was happy because I have been interested in her work ever since I saw a TV program about her titled “The Master Woman”.
(I like calligraphy as well as calligraphy.)
Unfortunately, the work I’ve always wanted to see, “The Master Woman,” wasn’t on display, but I was happy to see a nice piece called “Tsukiyomi”.
I was talking with my family, “I like the way the brush strokes are so smooth…, and thinking how interesting it is to start from calligraphy to abstract painting…”.
(I think it is the opposite of the origin of letters…)
I wish you and me a year full of blessings.
I look forward to working with you all again this year.
